A root canal involves accessing this inner chamber and clearing out all of the infected tissue. We then sterilize and fill the canal with a special material. This strengthens the tooth and we can cap the tooth with a crown to strengthen it. Getting a root canal as soon as one of our doctors suggests it can protect you from painful and costly procedures in the future. Eradicating the infection prevents further damage and protects the tooth structure.
